ABOUT US:
Coffs Harbour Golf Course is a 27-hole championship standard golf course, centrally located between Brisbane and Sydney on the NSW coast. Rated as one of the premier country courses in Australia, this is an exciting time to join the Club with significant investment occurring into the implementation of our Craig Parry Course Master Plan. Craig Parry labelled Coffs Harbour Golf Club as a ‘Golfers Dream’ by providing 27 holes of championship competition play and giving members three different courses to play and enjoy each week.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The successful candidate will require a genuine enthusiastic approach to their career path and have a strong eye for detail in Turf and Golf Course Management. Reporting directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and/or his Assistant, this position will require a flexible, versatile team player who has a strong understanding of the golf course requirements. Along with the ability to work within a face paced environment to meet timelines and objectives, the right candidate will possess a positive attitude to continually improve the Golf Course, along with growing their individual knowledge and skill set, as well as being reliable, punctual and a team player. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly motivated team in assisting the Club during the construction and implementation of the course master plan.
Position Qualifications & Experience:
- Cert III Turf Management Qualification or 3 – 4 years equivalent/relevant Turf management experience (previous golf course experience advantageous)
- Chemical spraying accreditation (AQF3) with relevant experience with chemical and fertilizer application.
- Experience in all aspects of golf course maintenance (experience in a similar working role is desired)
- Be competent with wide range of turf machinery
- Proficient and safe operation of all golf course equipment
- Experience with irrigation systems
- Understanding of WHS policies and Safe Work Procedures
- Understanding of OH&S and environmental requirements
- Current Australian driver’s licence and vehicle
- Completed a White Card/Construction Induction course
- Knowledge of the game of golf/having an interest in golf is an advantage

- Possess strong communication and interpretation skills
- Punctual with good attention to detail
- The ability to learn new skills and processes.
- Willingness to be a proactive team member to continually enhance the Golf Course Management operation on a daily, weekly and yearly basis
Duties Include:
- Maintenance of all turf areas on the Course to a high standard, inclusive of greens, tees, surrounds, bunkers, fairways, roughs and out of play areas
- Proficient in course set-up
- Carry out turf renovation, including scarifying, coring, dethatching and sanding as required
- Assist in any other areas on the Club’s property as directed by the Course Superintendent.
- Safely apply pesticides and fertilisers when required
- Irrigation management
- Follow and implement safe workplace practices.
- This is a full-time position with rostered weekend work.
