PENNANT NEWS
The Pennant season is all but over, though it is exciting to see that we have two teams that won their semi-final matches and are now progressing to the Final on June 19.
Team Division 2a played Nambucca at Sawtell and had a 3 ½ to 1 ½ win. Match winners were Stephen Craig 3-up and Rob Caldwell 1-up. The star performer was Jacob Cross who showed true grit to win the last 5 holes for a 1up win after being 4 down! It’s not easy to peg back that kind of deficit, indeed great going! Mention must be made of Warrick Lynch’s halved match; he drained a 25-30foot (go measure it) putt on the last to take the grin of his opponents face and put a smile his!
Team Division 3c were successful 3 to 2 over South West Rocks at Bellingen. Arlen Horten in hard fought match won the last hole for a win and Captain Quirk had convincing 3-2 win. By all reports it was a tough encounter with John Nichols having to go to the 16th to secure a decision, his experience shining through.
