It is with immense pleasure we let members know our Auditorium was unveiled as The Gibson Room at last night’s 96th Annual General Meeting. This is in honour and memory of former life member, Ken “Gibbo” Gibson. Ken’s legacy of service to the Club spanned over several decades and will be remembered by all. Ken’s wife, Judy, was there on the night to cut the ribbon and officially open the space as The Gibson Room.
We also acknowledged our 50-year members at last night’s AGM. Kit Goodsell and Jenny Tooth were both recognised for their loyalty to the Club. Jenny couldn’t be there to accept her award however Kit was able to be presented with her trophy by Club President, Mark Dodd. Thank you Jenny and Kit for your outstanding commitment to the Club.
We can now announce our 2022 Club Person of the Year – Trish Nance! Trish joined the Club in 2015 and immediately started helping out with the Sub Junior competitions on Sunday mornings, much to the delight of the juniors. For the past 8 years, Trish has helped Matt and Brandon develop the beginner program, assisting every Tuesday from 8.30am to 3pm. She has mentored many beginners and has seen 230 new members complete the beginner’s program. Trish now has her sights set on resurrecting the junior and cadet program, joining the newly formed Junior Committee. Trish was the 2017 Ladies Club Champion and in the same year won the Ladies Classic in the Festival of Golf. Trish has immersed herself into the Club and made it a better place with her help, expertise, hard work and time. Thank you Trish.
